Project Sewn "Floral Frenzy" - Kwik Sew 3807

Project Sewn's challenge theme for week two is "Floral Frenzy"
And it just so happened that I whipped up these pants in like, a night lol

This was one of the options from the Miss Bossy Challenge from TMS but popular vote voted against these.
These are Kwik Sew 3807
I got the fabric from JoAnn's and I got the last yard and change on the bolt.
It's a very stretchy denim
It was JUST ENOUGH to squeeze these out.

I love that the flowers are almost abstract.
It make it look like they really ARE in a frenzy!

Like I mentioned, these pants sewed up EXTREMELY quick.
Only 3 pieces and one of them doesn't even really count cuz it just the zipper facings.

But a problem that I was having with them is the crotch area. It bulged sooooo much.
This pic doesn't even show it well.
I literally took about 2 extra inches out of the crotch seam and there's STILL a little bulge.

It's not very noticeable to other people but it really bothers me.
i just didn't want to keep going back to the machine so I just left it.

It was pretty loose in the back as well but as I kept adjusting the crotch seam, the back seamed to correct itself

Did I mention it has ankle zippers?!

Functional too ;-)

The look pretty awkward unzipped with heels lol
I'll try it styled that way when I wear them with flats.

These have an elastic waistband.
Just elastic sewed to the top of the fabric, folded over, then sewn down.

'Tis all!

I love them!
Tell me what you think!

I'm partying here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here!
See you in the next post!
share & stuff ;-)

xoxo, Tasha

  1. CUTE tasha! just goes to show, i wouldn't have noticed the crotch if you hadn't told (and, you know, the extreme close up:) i wonder what that crotch is about? it looks like it has something to do with where the waist sits, like the crotch length isn't allowed to sit its full length?

feh! they are CUTE and those zips!!

    1. Thank you lol
Apparently it's noticeable in person because my mom was like "why does it look like that?" loool
but she was probably inspecting my work lol
I think I'll have to make a smaller size if I ever make this pattern again.

  2. Cute pants Tasha! I have tried this pattern and had the same issue! I wish I had persevered like you did. I balled mine up and threw them in a corner! (Take that you baggy crotch!) They look great on you and the floral is so springy!

    1. aww, thanks!
Kwik Sew patterns are the most expensive (because I only by patterns when they're on sale for a dollar and change lol) but they are definitely the fastest to whip up. You might like them!

  10. These are beautiful, love the fabric. I have no idea what you could do about the "crotch" issue but hopefully some other clever person will know and be able to tell, then you can give us an update! (It's not awful, but now you have pointed it out there it is!) It would be a shame not to completely love them as otherwise they are so lovely!
