Fall Vibes | McCall's 7974

Hello, Friends! I promised to be done with the sleeveless summer looks so here we are moving on.  I'm finally able to share my Fall transitional dress that I made, and I'm excited about it!

This is McCall's 7974, View C. I cut the 14 in a C cup. Don't you love it when patterns offer cup sizes!

Hummingbird Maxi | Simplicity 8635 & McCall's 7834

Hello, Friends! I'm back with my last sleeveless garment of the season lol It's about that time. Temperatures are consistently in the LOW 50's in the morning and I have my heater on when I go to bed at night haha.

I made this dress last month as a #MinervaMaker. You can learn more about the fabric when my post gets posted on Minerva.com in the new year. Today I want to talk about this successful pattern mashup!

Well, here it is!

I love how all 3 of my versions look so different. The foundation of this pattern is great!

Pink Linen Dream | McCall's 7922

Hello friends! I'm back with another dress I made this summer. I'm hoping to get all of these summer dresses out on the blog before the weather here in the DMV gets cold on a consistent basis. Right now, the weather is a massive see-saw between the high 80s and low 60s. I'm still grateful for the highs, by the way. lol I'm not a fan of cold weather at all.

Anyway, back to the dress. This simple, but pretty thing is McCalls 7922... again lol This time I made View C with the length of View D.

Stripe-Matching Perfection! | McCall's 7593

Hello, Friends! It's come to the end of National Sewing Month and I hope that you all were able to enjoy it the way you saw fit! I personally got a lot of projects out of the way and really started to find my personal style. And while all of that is great, the project I have to share today has nothing to do with that LOL

This is McCall's 7593, View A. I made this dress last year in September right before I packed up all of my stuff and moved. Then the weather changed and it was seasonally inappropriate. So it took a year for me to give photographic evidence lol

The Fabric I couldn't live without | McCall's 7922

Hello, Friends! The past couple of months, I have been in a phase in my sewing where I'm not really sewing for any particular event. I've just been sewing what I feel like at the moment, and mostly those decisions have been lead solely by my desire to sew up a particular fabric.... just because I like it so much.

So I've made this dress I'm sharing today. This is McCall's 7922. I cut the size 14 and started making View B.

Abstract Floral One-Shoulder | McCall's 7955

Friends! I'm back! Annnndddd with another top! LOL, It's good though because I'm definitely filling in my wardrobe holes :-D

A few weeks ago I had an urge to go dancing but I was going through my closet and wasn't finding anything that I was going to feel good in. So I went to both my pattern and fabric stashes and came up with something to whip up before it was time to head out.

This is McCall's 7955, View A in Size Medium.

Mommy's Late Kimono | Simplicity 1108

Hello friends! I'm back with some selfless sewing!

Over a year ago, my mom was looking through my stash and pointed out a piece of fabric and told me she wanted a kimono out of it. I said "okay" and proceeded to not take any steps to make said kimono lol

Well, this year I decided I should be a better daughter and resolved to make her the kimono of her dreams.

Sewcialist Mini Challenge | White McCall's 7573

Hello, friends! I'm back with another top! Last month, Sewcialists had a mini-challenge going on Instagram and it pushed me to go ahead and get something done out of my queue. It was a color challenge where we would "spin" a wheel and we would have to sew something of the color that we were given. I got "white".... just like I wanted LOL.

So I made McCall's 7573, view C, and I cut the 12. I had been wanting to make this top for quite some time so I'm happy this challenge kicked my butt into gear.

A little sleeve Fringe | Simplicity 8601

Hello, Friends!
I'm back with a top that I made almost an entire year ago... but I still have it and wear it so you can imagine that this is going to be a very positive post.

This top is Simplicity 8601, View D, minus the ruffle, plus the fringe from View B.

As you can see, I'm still building my closet with cute quick tops. It seems like I get into one mode and I forget to sew with diversity. Years ago, I would only make sundresses. Then it was outerwear/cardigans, and now it's tops. My next thing will surely be bottoms.

The pants that didn't want to be! | Yellow McCall's 7726

You ever have a project that you're so excited to do and everything seems to be going well but then all of sudden, everything just starts going WRONG?! Welcome to my journey with these yellow pants lol

This is McCall's 7726, View B. I cut the size 12. The only modifications I made was to add 2 inches to the length of the pants.

Easter 2019 Mommy & Me Looks | Simplicity 1716 & Simplicity 8688

Happy Monday, friends! Sorry I missed last week! I was turning 29 and didn't find my way to my laptop lol But I have quite a few posts lined up for the next couple of weeks so I promise I'm not disappearing like I did before haha.

Today I am here with a "Mommy & Me" look!

My whole family picks a color scheme every year for Ressurection Sunday, and this year it was an almost burnt orange color. I looked into my stash and found this floral fabric with the perfect shade of orange! I found a pattern, realized I would have some fabric left over and decided I would surprise my mom with a top to match me (she loves matching me LOL).

Panama Bird top | Simplicity 8550

Hello friends! I'm back with another top! I've realized that "cute tops" is where I've been lacking in my wardrobe, really for years now. I had been finding it hard to get dressed and look casual but dressed up at the same time because I could never find a top that wasn't essentially a t-shirt in my closet.

This is Simplicity 8550, View C. I cut the size 12.

7 months later, but I'm still sewing! | McCall's 7812

Hello Sewing Blog Community!

It has been quite quiet over on this corner of the interwebs and it's about time for me to break the silence!

I'm not going to go TOO deep into why I've been gone for SO long, but one of the reasons is that...

I bought a house!!

And between packing up everything and settling into my new place, the blog had slipped by the wayside. But if you don't trust me here and want to keep up with me in real time, you can just follow me on Instagram @thetelltaletasha

Now with that out of the way, let me show you something I made since I've been gone!

This is McCall's 7812. Such a cute top. I made it on a Tuesday night with plans to go Salsa dancing at the end of that week.
