Fresh Start | From 2017 to 2018

Another year has flown by and I feel like I'm still trying to keep up lol

2017 was quite the year. I took some amazing trips, made some solid garments, lost loved ones, welcomed new family additions, met some awesome new people and reconnected with friends from the past. It was a whirlwind of adventure and I'm grateful for every moment and memory that I've walked out with.

Starting with my top sewing hits:

poncho \ off the shoulder \ anorak
romper \ polleras \ cold shoulder
plaid wrap \ kielo \ multicolor wrap

Another Clean Slate - from 2016 on to 2017

I want to have some closure for 2016 so I'm going to do a VERY quick overview so that I can move on with the future!

I made 17 garments for myself in 2016. Pretty lame considering I've made 25+ things in a year in the past. But I'll cut myself some slack because the reason for my sewing productivity was replaced with lots and lots of family time. And I LOVE my family so I'm not THAT disappointed.

Things I wear CONSTANTLY:
Most of the other things haven't been worn because they were made at the END of their appropriate seasons lol So we'll see this year how much use I make of them.

2015 Recap and a new outlook

So, I wasn't planning on doing this. But as I was going through old posts I decided that I had a REALLY good sewing year in 2015 and it'd be a shame to not take a second to appreciate the work and growth that I experienced.
This year I turned a quarter of a century, became a godmother, traveled a little internationally (Toronto, Panama), hosted another meetup and spent a lot of time just being happy.

This year I made 25 different pieces and I'm keeping 18 of them. I think that 72% is pretty good! My track record got pretty impeccable at the end of the year with the things I made off of my Fall Sewing Plans list. I sewed 8 out of 11 of the plans and I'm happy with and keeping all of them. :-)

2015! New Year, Same Goals!

Happy New Year, everyone! It seems like this holiday season snuck up on us and is gone just like that! It's like I was on the phone with 2014 and 2015 walked in the door and I never finished my original conversation lol. As I reflect on 2014, I can truly say that I don't have any regrets. I learned soooo much about sewing and met so many wonderful people as a result of this hobby as well.  I started sewing from patterns this year and started getting really serious about learning proper techniques. As a result, my stash of notions and tools has grown TREMENDOUSLY. My blog turned 1 in 2014 and I got to host my first giveaway! I traveled internationally a bit (Panama, DR, PR) and hosted a couple of meetups (1, 2)!

I made 28 items this year! I'm even amazed at that because it doesn't feel like I did lool
