Fixed Crotch and Future Plans

Happy Sunday! It definitely is for ME because (as I'm writing this) I am comfortably sitting in my skort that I made for Oonapalooza!! yay!.. When I posted about how it was literally a pain to sit in these, Val (who's down with Stitch Once, Rip Twice) hit me up to let me know about a tutorial she so happened to be putting out like the next day lol. It was about adjusting the rise in crotch in pants and shorts. Lucky me! So I put her tutorial to the test.

Wallah! Magic! I am very happy to say that it worked great! Now what I need to do is figure out how to come up with a block so that i can adjust the crotch areas BEFORE I sew up a pair of pants.  I swear there is ALWAYS something new to learn.

Now that that is out of the way, I can move on to the other 5 projects that I have cut out. Well, I have the patterns cut out. I need to cut out the fabric for four of them. These are my future plans for August:

I didn't get a chance to make a garment in July for the TMS Monosewn challenge but I REALLY want to still. And I will. I will be working on THIS with some little design pops.

Speaking of monochromatic garments, everything I make for the rest of the month will follow that theme actually.  I am making  a blouse to do a couple tutorials for the lovely ladies in the Needles & Fashion group. I wanted to make something simple that had some intermediate techniques for the beginners like me who may not have come across them yet.

Oh! which color bias binding do you think for the armholes?? It won't show from the outside but I still don't know which one to pick.  The majority on Instagram was red.  What do you think?

And I have been holding on to this textured knit since the beginning of the year because I wanted to make sure whatever I made from it would get a lot of wear. What better way to utilize it than for Two-piece Set-acular

I did say a little bit ago that I was going to lay off the challenges and sew-a-longs for a while but they're so fun! And I originally had that sentiment because I didn't want to have to make the exact same pattern as everyone else anymore. I love challenges where everyone has a goal but we get to express it in our own way and be individuals! As well as ensuring that I personally make something that I KNOW I am going to wear :-) And both pieces from this set will get worn for sure. Black and white is so classic, it goes with pretty much anything.

I said I had FIVE projects cut right? Yea, the other two are much more colorful lol but I don't plan on sharing them until September. One of them is a project that I'm going to be taking my time with so I may do more in-progress posts. It will be the first time I really deviate from a pattern and it's instructions so it will be interesting to see how it goes. Especially since the fabric is from Panama and I won't be able to get anymore :-/ lol The other one is my project for Stitch Once, Rip Twice.

Hope to be back here really soon!  What are you working on? Have you moved on to Fall sewing yet??

xoxo, Tasha
